Whoa black water, keep on rolling...

Sun Aug 23, 2009, 6:19 AM
So Friday we finished packing up the cars and we drove up to the cold north. I drove about 80% of the drive, and eventually got over my fear of the highway, the car rattling, and driving above 55. XD
Woke up Sat. morning at 6:35, ate breakfast, got situated, then drove over to the dorm about 25 minutes before it opened. :D Was I first in the building again? Yes. Mission completed.

But shisht. I packed way too much again. But nothing useless, just what I needed I packed a lot of. But maybe next year I will try to pack less. :/

So we got everything up the 3 flights of stairs, moved the room around, unpacked a bit, then helped Mott move in when she got here. We all went out to lunch, then we came back, unpacked, and suddenly we were visited by MegMeg! She convinced me to come down to the river with her and a few friends, sooooo I got suited up and we all headed down.

I thought we were just going to hang out on the side of it, but they all got in immediately. Then they floated away, to my dismay. (rhyme^^) They called me, and Britney waited for me and convinced me to come and we pushed off together.
It was quite enjoyable actually. We stopped in the middle of the river and chatted, then went down to the rapids, which scared me... a lot...

Got down to the rapids and -shocker- the rocks are all flat as pancakes! Aka the perfect sitting/standing place!!! So We sat there and talked and looked around, making sure the golden specks in the water wasn't gold, and cooled off. We got out as 3 other people were coming in, so that's good, just hope its not crowded when we go back...

Got back, took a shower, found Meghan (different from MegMeg) sitting on my bed! O.O We go out for smoothies and chat about her trip to Nicaragua, which oddly mirrors my trip to Bolivia. We go to her house and have a nic. dish of beans and rice, listen to bachata, and watch the worst-made music videos ever. ^^ It was great.

Came back, talked to the man, and then when the conversation finally picked up and was getting good, I fell asleep. Yea. WHAT a moron. He waited for me to come back too. I only woke up when my computer told me the battery was low. UGH. I feel like such a shit head.
I also feel sick, a possible outcome of not sleeping, moving, and going cold-turkey on my allergy medicine. UGH.

19 days and counting...

Almost the end of one crazy summer... aaaaa it was something! hehehe
July mostly in NYC with my Love (remember the ducks!), saw Dana, went to Ohio, DID OVERHAUL OF THE ROOM (YEEEEES), and did a lot of home improvement projects (in the hot sun XP).

NYC:
Was fantastic! We went to this one club for the 4th of July and it had different levels with different genres (awesome). We saw fireworks (kinda), met the landlords (characters who sit on the front steps and complain about pigeons), saw a robbery being planned (he did, not me, phew), and met the queen of ducks.

The duck queen was this half-mallard, half-domestic white duck who went from litterally the ugly duckling to the queen of the pond after she was abused by the other fowl and finally was attacked by dogs so badly she lost a wing. I took pictures of the beauty, so maybe I will post them soon. She is pretty domesticated (thanks to the mother half and regular checkups when she was being abused), and fed cheerios along with her rat pack of two bodyguards. Cheers. ^^

Robbery being planned was something I missed, but was later told about. Evidently Alfredo was in a shop I just left to go get vitamins for him. He was checking out and looking out the window and saw two guys looking in talking. At some point the one guy picked up his shirt to show a nice little handgun. Woot. Lets just say he was a bit on edge when I came back. O.O

Landlords were something else. One jokingly tried to charge Alfredo for putting out trash. We went out once to have them both there and one was from upstate, the other from the city. Evidently people will leave their windows open with no screens, and the pigeons will fly into the bathrooms for a drink/bath/whatever. Anyways, the upstater had catching them down to an art. If it was up to the city one, he said he would just get a shotgun and solve it in one sec. heheh, I am glad they have gun laws in NYC...
...and then he sold me a microphone set for $10. \^^/ (it works)

We left late for the fireworks and it was like a wild goose chase running through the subways and through the streets, and we could see them in the street so that was pretty cool. So we ran like, 8 blocks and pushed through crowds, only to get within 3 blocks for the last 10 minutes, but it was so worth it. ^^
Then we went to the club, which was amazing...

The Seinfeld Diner was great, hands down. ^^ Alfredo got the Lumberjack and ate it all...

There was a lot more, like the cooking I did, which rocked because I made a lot of stuff out of only a few things. AND I perfected Creme Brulee... ^^ Going to the market with my boyfriend was always a treat, even if sometimes we would gander at how expensive things were in comparison to other places. We went to a few pet stores to check out the pets, and I got to hold a cockatoo worth more than my entire bank account (which is not much to begin with, but you get the point). We saw a wolf-hound among other dogs in and around the parks.

aaaa, the parks, so cool. So big and open. Good lighting since people got murdered... But very pleasant with the lighting, large walkways, bikepaths, dog runs, and beautiful gardens and trees. Mmm, a little piece of home in a city of cement. And Riverside, mmmmmm gorgeous beyond them all.

I hated to leave, but it was nice to come home to quiet and less swelter. Since home I've been to Canada, which was pretty nice, got to see my new 2nd cousin (my cousin had a baby girl...he's my age so it was a bit surprising), my favorite uncles and one new aunt (she is from Jamaica and is a positively wonderful person, cooked us all a Jamaican breakfast and told us so many stories), had wine and Aero bars (aaaayum), and went to IKEA! We also did 2 or so days of crazy 2nd hand baby stuff shopping and found a crib and some warm things for the little munchkin. ^^ I might be putting her up soon too. <3

Now I am cleaning and packing for Camp Cold so I am pretty pumped. Why so early? Weeell, I will be in Ohio for a few days, then want to head to NYC to see my boyfriend again before school, which leaves me with, like, a day to pack (HAHAHA). So far I have cleaning/kitchen/desk supplies, and duvee covers/sheets, flip flops, a few personal stuff, and whatever else packed. Its not a lot, but I know there is still more to be packed... clothes... duvee and pillow... matress pad and cover... sewing supplies... books, ugh$$$... etc.

Also, note to self- I need to find the booth for volunteer work... time to start giving back what has been given to me. Cheers. ^^

And about my boyfriend, we think things might be looking up. Stay tuned. ^^

Begining Again

Tue Jun 2, 2009, 7:23 PM
Welcome in June.
I start tomorrow, and I am pretty pumped about it. Evidently the band wants to meet in a cafe on the most difficult part of town to drive in. And I am not the only intern. Cheers. XD ( I will cheat and take my mums car, muahahaha).
Sadly, my Love had to go back to NYC to work and do visa paperwork. Joy. But he is getting a great apartment so thats good. :D I am thinking of coming and visiting him in Early or Late July. An old friend from Bolivia is coming up for a Wedding, so I want to go visit her for a bit as well.
You have no idea how proud I am of my Love. He has come so far and been through quite a bit of nastiness. I give him a standing ovation as you read this    I love you!!

I have been neglecting my art big time. All I have right now are silly little sketches in my head and old pictures to keep it going. Oh well...

I will update tomorrow. I am tired now. XD Chau!

Almost Summer

Sun May 24, 2009, 2:38 PM
And what am I doing? mmmm good question. ^^

So my Love, mother, and I (fish in tow) drove the 7 or so hours home and carried everything in. Al and I started attacking my room immediatly and did very well for a few days, then I started to lose steam. We moved everything around, hung up curtains (YEEEEES) and started trying to move the college stuff in. I broke down and bought a 129$ bird cage (BIG) for my two babies, as the cages I have now are not mine (evidently, oops). It will arrive in a week or two so I am supremely pumped about that.
Al and I went to go see Wolverine and loved it! I thought it was going to be overdone and badly at that. But it was so good. There were parts I was like oooo SO unrealistic, even for comics. But it was excellent and kept to the comic book style to the T.
Speaking of T, Al and I are making a commercial for tea. It should be good, keep your eyes peeled. ;)

A fine kettle of fish:

We put all the fish in the koi pond today, so it went from 1 to 18 fish in half an hour, which I am sure delighted all of them, especially the lone survivor from the winter hibernation. I put my children in there and I think they went into shock from seeing lots of other fish and so much room to swim in. I put KoKo (my gift betta to Al) in their 2.5 gallon tank and he seemed elated. Lahahana (my betta) seemed jealous so I updated his tank with a new setup, switched a spare plant of my mothers, and put a funky bubble-maker that bends, and he was very much in awe and watching me as I was putting it in.

Al is listening to Mistique and Out with the Old, Cyclone, and other skateboard music. I can see him skateboarding as a teenager. ^^ I love him, my "street guy". hahaha
We want to go see Up from Pixar and I am pretty pumped about it. We might even go camping, if my driving skills improve.
I got stuck at a stop sign and people got pissed at me and had to pass me. Can you beleive no-one stopped to ask if I needed help? Bastards. But I practiced driving yesterday and I think I am getting better... slow but sure. ;)

As for art, forget it for now. My internship starts soon and my summer will be a whirlwind of odd jobs, travel, and my internship. Ughy... but I will try.

-Eva

Ps. if anyone in NYC knows of an apartment for rent for less than 800 for June-end of August, please tell us, Al is looking. ^^ Cheers! Hope you all have a great Memorial Weekend!
